Community retreat for LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced people

26 – 28 January 2023 | Canberra region at a farm

After a great success from last year retreat, we proudly present another retreat for LGBTIQ+ community who experienced forced displacement.

Join us in nature for a transformative weekend, where we welcome you with a full programme designed to nurture all your wellbeing needs. A chance to recharge, decompress your mind body and soul, and importantly connect with your siblings.

Who can apply?

The retreat is ONLY for LGBTIQ+ people from forced displacements backgrounds (people seeking asylum , refugees or migrants from non-Western countries). Please note that this is a mixed gender retreat.

Where & When?
26 – 28 January 2023

This retreat will take place at a farm in the NSW Murrumbateman Region (a short drive from Canberra). The farm is located in the bush. There are 10 horses living on the farm with whom you can learn to interact.

How to apply?

Fill out an application form here before December 11: https://forms.monday.com/forms/4976768443850b9dfed8e598d5336841?r=use1
Remember spots are limited thus priority will be given to the early birds who are willing to give back to their community!

For you info, if you get selected?

All the expenses related to accommodation, food, professional facilitators as well the transportation from Canberra to the farm will be covered by us. You will need to arrange your own transport to Canberra but some scholarships will be available for those from interstate.

We will be guided and cared by 2 mental health professionals who will help us to connect with ourselves, each other and the nature. We will do this throught various activities like engaging with horses, connecting with nature and rest of the other great souls.

FDPN thanks Hands Across Canberra for providing funding for this event.
